Not to be confused with the Country Two Step, this is a partner dance created many decades ago to fit very slow pop love songs like Spanish Guitar or country love songs like Heart of the World.
We will be learning the original (and more widely known) version that is a rhythm based dance. We will discuss, however, how it relates to a descendant dance done in the country world: Night Club. This later offshoot was changed to more appropriately fit Country Music's even slower love ballads. The technique is also fairly different, as the country version changes from a rhythm dance to a smooth dance.
It is the intructor's opinion that the original version is the best starting point on the way to understanding and mastering both versions with the goal of being able to utilize the version of the dance that best fits any particular piece of music.
No partner need to join the class.
